First, let me say this isn’t your typical tater tot hotdish.  Most recipes you find online call for peas, carrots, and sometimes even cheese.  If you are anything like me… cheese is not my favorite thing in the world, peas don’t belong anywhere but at the store, and carrots can just stay in the fridge.  Tater Tot Hotdish is one of the easiest recipes to manipulate because you can add basically anything, or make it as simple as you want!  Add some fresh celery and mushrooms for extra flavor and texture, or add some scrambled eggs (and maybe even some…

Sometimes you see a recipe on the internet whether its a Facebook page or Pinterest, maybe Instagram and your first thought is hmm that looks good.  You may save or screenshot the recipe or try to remember where you saw it and it typically never makes it to your kitchen.  Usually you don’t come across that particular recipe again. This is how I typically am.  I will be looking for new easy meals to try, save a bunch, try one once, and move on with life. I was scrolling through the good old Facebook and saw this recipe. I stopped…

You know how there are some foods that you hear the name and there is only one good way to make it, and then others you hear the name and there are endless ways to make it? Chicken salad is one of those foods that can be made in an endless amount of ways.  I personally cannot stand when I order chicken salad and it is served with raisins or grapes and cashews in it. Don’t get me wrong I love all of those foods… Just not together. If you are one of those people (like me) that loves to…

Remember Covid?  Of course you do! It’s the virus that never goes away! And the entire media Will. Not. Shut. Up. about it!  *steps off the soap box and kicks it away* Anywho, as I laid miserably in bed watching YouTube, I came across this recipe.  I could only imagine the smell and taste since I lost both during the quarantine. However, once I was better the smell and taste was so much better than I ever imagined!  Canned soup?  Restaurants? Forget about it! *done in her best Boston accent* Make this. Your tastebuds will worship you. RECIPE Chicken…

I have so many favorite foods that in order to list them all I have to break them down into categories (who doesn’t)! My all time favorite sandwich is a mix between a philly cheese steak and a french dip! One thing I HATE about sandwiches is when you get this BEAUTIFUL full sandwich, you go to take a bite, and BAM half your sandwich is now on your plate and just a mess! This sloppy version of the philly is SO MUCH EASIER to eat and surprisingly less messy!! It is so yummy and easy to make!! I personally…

Little fun fact about me… I have an extreme shopping problem. Now this is not your typical “girl” shopping problem like shoes, clothes, bags, or makeup… My extreme shopping problem is FOOD!! If the word “foodie” was in the dictionary I’m almost positive it would have my picture as the definition. When I make my grocery list my intention is to go to the store get what I need and get out! That never happens I always do the casual up and down the aisle stroll and get 4 – 5 times more things than I had on my list.…

One of my favorite meals growing up was Chicken Alfredo! Not the jarred kind you find in the store or the pre-done frozen kind. I’m talking homemade from scratch Alfredo! My mom always made this recipe and I still swear to this day that its better than most restaurants! If you’re like me and picky when it comes to different cheese you know it is SOO hard to find a GOOD sauce. Well you can stop looking because you found it! This recipe is so easy to make and is made of everyday items you could find in your fridge…

My fiancé and I have been together almost 6 years and he has made dinner once in that time.  He is the kind of man that replies “how do I do that” when I ask him to slice a tomato.  He does NOT cook or bake… or so I thought… We recently received a Dutch Oven as a wedding gift and his face lit up like I just handed him the nicest fishing pole out there and told him to have a guys trip.  He grabbed the info book out of my hands, found what is was made of (cast…

I have always loved lemon bars. It reminds me of warm summer days at my grandma’s house. We used to sit on her patio with a glass of peach tea, and she ALWAYS had lemon bars on hand (they were my grandpa’s favorite). Now that my grandparents are no longer around, I make my own lemon bars and remember back to those summer days. I found this recipe and thought it was a great take on one of my favorite memories. They offer a great balance between sweet and sour, and are a great, refreshing treat. I hope you enjoy…

I love cooking and trying new things. I will spend hours on my weekends researching new dishes to try throughout the week. It’s pretty rare that I cook the same thing multiple times unless I REALLY like something. This is one of those meals! It is fairly healthy, but definitely does not taste like it. The prep is super easy and goes really quick. One of the best parts is you probably already have a lot of the ingredients on hand! I HIGHLY recommend trying this if you are a fan of chicken and cheese (who isn’t??)! You will not…

Every household has their grocery shopping routine.  Ours is every Sunday morning while eating breakfast we make a list of dinners for the week and a needed list of groceries. We check the list with what is in the pantry, fridge and freezer to narrow it down. Seems pretty flawless right??  Well sometimes items get missed or mistaken for something they aren’t. I found this recipe on Pinterest for a simple crock pot meal: kielbasa, potatoes, cheese, and sour cream.  In our house we love to take sour cream and mix it with an onion soup mix. It makes a…

It includes chicken, cheese, and pasta. What is there not to like?! My family ALWAYS requests this dish, and I make it at least once a month. It’s a household favorite! I first found this recipe during the Covid outbreak.  When you have nothing but time on your hands, binge watching YouTube is a great time killer. Though I must say that watching videos of food when you can’t taste or smell is torture. I recommend waiting until you kick Covid to the curb, then make this delicious recipe!   I make this all the time with mild sausage and no cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. I’m not big on hot spices.  Tweak it as you will.  It’s a very forgiving recipe.  Let me know how you like it! Spicy…

Almost everyone has their favorite go-to Chinese cuisine whether its lo mien, fried rice, a soup, or anything else super tasty on the menu.  Mine has always been beef and broccoli with white rice and Cream cheese wontons… YUM!!  I am OBSESSED with tearing my wontons apart and dipping them in the beef and broccoli sauce and then mixing the rice into the dish so its just a big bowl of DELISH!  I have my favorite Chinese restaurant that makes beef and broccoli just the way I like it: little bit of bite, some tang, thick sauce, a bit of…

Almost everyone has that one memory of going to Grandma and Grandpas house when we were kids that really sticks out. In this case it is Nana and Papas house. When I was a kid I LOVED going to my Nana and Papas house. The baking, crafts, games, but most of all the garden. My Papa is very passionate about his garden. He is out there everyday doing critical up keep to make sure it is the best garden it could possibly be. I will always remember walking to the garden with him and hearing the “watch were you step”…

This pickle recipe is one of my favorites!   I came across these pickles at a family/friends get together.  It was our first BIG get together in a while due to Covid (gross) and everyone staying distant (facetime was the new thing).  The restrictions had been lifted for about two weeks and we had some friends from out of state staying with us. I remember we were all so excited to get together and it was a BEAUTIFUL day! There was SO much food from beer can chicken and mash potatoes to a watermelon feta salad and grilled roman lettuce that just…
